It didn't hurt this much the last time

I thought I would be able to handle it

To stand the pain

Now, 

I can hear the whimpers

The sniffs

I can feel the sadness

I thought I would be able

To piece everything back together

I always make it worse

Now the pieces

Are turning to dust

I wish I wasn't so selfish

To have done such a thing

To my poor heart
